siamo da Dio consolati, possiamo consolar coloro che sono in qualunque afflizione; 5 Perciocchè, come le sofferenze di Cristo abbondano in noi, così ancora per Cristo abbonda la nostra consolazione. 6 Ora, sia che siamo afflitti, ciò è per la vostra consolazione, e salute; sia che altresì siamo consolati, ciò è per la vostra consolazione, la quale opera efficacemente nel sostenimento delle medesime sofferenze, le quali ancora noi patiamo; e la nostra speranza di voi è ferma. 7 Sapendo che, come siete partecipi delle sofferenze, così ancora sarete partecipi della consolazione. 8 Perciocchè, fratelli, non vogliamo che ignoriate la nostra afflizione, che ci è avvenuta in Asia, come siamo stati sommamente gravati sopra le nostre forze; talchè siamo stati in gran dubbio, eziandio della vita; 9 Anzi avevamo già in noi stessi la sentenza della morte; acciocchè noi non ci confidiamo in noi stessi, ma in Dio, il qual risuscita i morti; 10 Il qual ci ha liberati, e libera da un si gran pericolo di morte; nel quale speriamo che ancora per l'avvenire ce ne libererà; 11 Sovvenendoci ancora voi congiuntamente con l' orazione; acciocchè del beneficio che ci sarà avvenuto per l'orazione di molte persone, grazie sieno rendute da molti per noi. 12 Perciocchè questo è il nostro vanto, cioè, la testimonianza della nostra coscienza, che in semplicità, e sincerità di Dio, non in sapienza carnale, ma nella grazia di Dio, siam conversati nel mondo, e vie più ancora appo voi. 13 Perciocchè noi non vi scriviamo altre cose, se non quelle che discernete, ovvero ancora riconoscete; ed io spero che le riconoscerete eziandio infino al fine. 14 Siccome ancora ci avete in parte riconosciuti, che noi siamo trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 7 And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. 8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; 11 Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. 12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. 13 For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end; 14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoic il vostro vanto, come altresì voi siete il nostro, il quale avremo nel giorno del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo. 15 Ed in questa confidanza io voleva innanzi venire a voi, acciocchè aveste una seconda grazia ; 16 E, passando da voi, venire in Macedonia; e poi di nuovo di Macedonia venire a voi, e da voi essere accompagnato in Giudea. 17 Facendo adunque questa deliberazione, ho io usata leggerezza? ovvero, le cose che io delibero, le delibero io secondo la carne, talchè vi sia appo me, sì, sì; e no, no? 18 Ora, come Iddio è fedele, la nostra parola inverso voi non è stata sì, e no. 19 Perciocchè il Figliuol di Dio, Gesù Cristo, che è stato fra voi predicato da noi, cioè, da me, da Silvano, e da Timoteo, non è stato sì, e no; ma è stato sì in lui. 20 Conciossiachè tutte le promesse di Dio sieno in lui sì, ed Amen; alla gloria di Dio, per noi. 21 Or colui, che ci conferma con voi in Cristo, e il quale ci ha unti, è Iddio ; 22 Il qual ancora ci ha suggellati, e ci ha data l'arra dello Spirito ne' cuori nostri. 23 Or io chiamo Iddio per testimonio sopra l'anima mia, che, per risparmiarvi, non sono ancora venuto a Corinto. 24 Non già che noi signoreggiamo la vostra fede, ma siamo aiutatori della vostra allegrezza: perchè voi state ritti per la fede. CAPO 2. CAPO 3. OMINCIAMO noi di nuovo a 16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. CHAPTER 3. Ovvero, abbiam noi bisogno, come alcuni, di lettere raccomandatorie a voi, o di raccomandatorie da voi ? 2 Voi siete la nostra lettera, scritta ne' cuori nostri; intesa, e letta da tutti gli uomini ; 3 Essendo manifesto che voi siete la lettera di Cristo, amministrata da noi; scritta, non con inchiostro, ma con lo Spirito dell' Iddio vivente; non in tavole di pietra, ma nelle tavole di carne del cuore. 4 Or una tal confidanza abbiamo noi per Cristo appo Iddio; 5 Non già che siamo da noi stessi sufficienti pure a pensar cosa alcuna, come da noi stessi; ma la nostra sufficienza è da Dio; 6 Il quale ancora ci ha renduti sufficienti ad esser ministri del nuovo patto, non di lettera, ma di spirito; conciossiachè la lettera uccida, ma lo spirito vivifichi. 7 Ora, se il ministerio della morte, che non era se non in lettere, scolpito in pietre, fu glorioso, talchè i figliuoli d' Israele non potevano riguardar fiso nel volto di Mosè, per la gloria del suo volto (la qual però dovea essere annullata); 8 Come non sarà più tosto con gloria il ministerio dello Spirito? 9 Perciocchè, se il ministerio della condannazione fu con gloria, molto più abbonderà in gloria il ministerio della giustizia. 10 Imperocchè ancora ciò che fu glorificato in quella parte, non fu glorificato a riguardo della più eccellente gloria. 11 Perciocchè, se quel che ha da some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? 2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart. 4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away; 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 11 For if that which is done away essere annullato fu per gloria; 13 E non facciamo come Mosè, il quale si mettea un velo su la faccia; acciocchè i figliuoli d' Israele non riguardassero fiso nella fine di quello che avea ad essere annullato. 14 Ma le lor menti son divenute stupide; conciossiachè sino ad oggi, nella lettura del vecchio testamento, l' istesso velo dimori, senza esser rimosso; il quale è annullato in Cristo. 15 Anzi, infino al di d' oggi, quando si legge Mosè, il velo è posto sopra il cuor loro. 16 Ma, quando Israele si sarà convertito al Signore, il velo sarà rimosso. 17 Or il Signore è quello spirito; e dove è lo Spirito del Signore, ivi è libertà. 18 E noi tutti contemplando a faccia scoperta, come in uno specchio, la gloria del Signore, siam trasformati nella stessa immagine, di gloria in gloria, come per lo Spirito del Signore. CAPO 4. was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. 12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: 13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: 14 But their minds were blinded : for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless, when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory_to_glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. avendo mini. TH sterio, secondo che ci è stata fatta misericordia, noi non veniam meno dell' animo; 2 Anzi abbiam rinunziato a' nascondimenti della vergogna, non camminando con astuzia, e non falsando la parola di Dio; anzi rendendoci approvati noi stessi appo ogni coscienza degli uomini, davanti a Dio, per la manifestazion della verità. 3 Che se il nostro evangelo ancora è coperto, egli è coperto fra quei che periscono; 4 Fra i quali l' iddio di questo secolo ha accecate le menti degl' increduli; acciocchè la luce dell'evangelo della gloria di Cristo, il quale è l'immagine dell' invisibile Iddio, non risplenda loro. CHAPTER 4. HEREFORE, seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but, by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. |
