Jeremiah 1. 7, 8.

But the Lord faid unto me, Say not, I am a child : for thou shalt go to all that I fhall fend thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou fhalt speak.

Be not afraid of their Faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, faith the Lord.

Jeremiah 2. 8.

The priests faid not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law, knew me not: the paftours alfo tranfgreffed against me, and the prophets prophefied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

Jeremiah 5. 30, 31.

A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land.

The prophets prophefie falfely, and the priests bear rule by their means, and my people love to have it fo: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Jeremiah 6. 13, 14, 15.

For from the leaft of them, even unto the greatest of them, every one is given to covetoufnefs; and from the prophet even unto the priest, every one dealeth falfely.

They have healed also the hurt of the Daughter of my People flightly, faying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.

Were they afhamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all afhamed, neither could they blush: therefore they fhall fall among them that fall: at the time that I vifit them, they shall be caft down, faith the Lord.

Jeremiah 10. 21.

For the paftours are become brutish, and have not fought the Lord: therefore they shall not profper, and all their flocks fhall be scattered.

Jeremiah 23. 1, 2, 3.

Wo be unto the pastours that deftroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture, faith the Lord.

Therefore thus faith the Lord God of Ifrael against the pastours that feed my people, Ye have fcattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them; behold, I will vifit upon you the evil of your doings, faith the Lord.

And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countreys whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds, and they fhall be fruitful and increase.

Ezekiel 2. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Ifrael, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me; they and their fathers have tranfgreffed against me, even unto this very day.

For they are impudent children and ftiff hearted: I do fend thee unto them, and thou fhalt fay unto them, Thus faith the Lord God.

And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear (for they are a rebellious house) yet fhall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

And thou, fon of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou doft dwell among fcorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be difmayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

And thou fhalt speak my words unto them, whethe they will hear, or whether they will forbear, for they are most rebellious.

Ezek

Ezek 3. 17, 18, 19, 20, 21.

Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Ifrael: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

When I say unto the wicked, thou fhalt furely die; and thou giveft him not warning, nor fpeakeft to warn the wicked from his wicked way to fave his life: the fame wicked man fhall die in his iniquity; but his bloud will I require at thine hand.

Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickednefs, nor from his wicked way, he fhall die in his iniquity; but thou haft deliver'd thy foul.

Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a ftumbling-block before him, he fhall die: because thou haft not given him warning, he shall die in his fin, and his righteousness which he has done, fhall not be remembred; but his bloud will I require at thine hand.

Nevertheless, if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous fin not, and he doth not fin; he fhall furely live, because he is warned: alfo thou haft deliver'd thy foul.

Ezek. 22. 26.

Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they fhewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my fabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

Ezek. 33. I-9.

Again the word of the Lord came unto me, faying,

Son of man, fpeak to the children of thy people,

and

and fay unto them, when I bring the fword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coafts, and fet him for their watchman:

If when he feeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

Then whofoever heareth the found of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the fword come and take him away, his bloud fhall be upon his

own head.

He heard the found of the trumpet, and took not warning, his bloud fhall be upon him; but he that taketh warning, fhall deliver his foul.

But if the watchman fee the fword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned: if the fword come and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity, but his bloud will I require at the watchman's hand.

So thou, O fon of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the houfe of Ifrael: therefore thou fhalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from

me.

When I fay unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou doft not speak to warn the wicked man from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his bloud will I require at thine hand.

Nevertheless if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it: if he do not turn from his way, he fhall die in his iniquity, but thou haft deliver'd thy foul.

Ezek. 34. I And the word of the Lord came unto me, faying,

Son of man, prophefie against the fhepherds of Ifrael, prophefie, and fay unto them, Thus faith the

Lord

Lord God unto the fhepherds, Wo be to the fhepherds of Ifrael, that do feed themfelves: fhould not the fhepherds feed the flocks?

Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.

The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was fick, neither have bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye fought that which was loft; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.

And they were fcattered, because there is no fhepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

My fheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea my flock was fcattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did fearch or feek after them.

Therefore, ye fhepherds, hear the word of the Lord.

As I live, faith the Lord God, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beaft of the field, because there was no fhepherd, neither did my fhepherds fearch for my flock, but the fhepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock ;

Therefore, Oye fhepherds, hear ye the word of the Lord;

Thus faith the Lord God, Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require my flock at their hands, and cause them to ceafe from feeding the flock, neither fhall the fhepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
