DISTRICT OF MASSACHUSETTS-To wit BB IT REMEMBERED, that on the first day of October, in the thirty-eighti. year of the independence of the U. States of America, SAMUEL T. ARMSTRONG, of the said District, has deposited in this office the title of a book, the right whereof he claims as Proprietor; in the words following, to wit:,
“A collection of Sermons, which have been preached on various subjects, and published at various times. By NATHANAEL EMMONS, D. D. Pastor of the Church in Franklin.".
In conformity to the act of the Congress of the United States, intitled "An act for the encouragement of Learning, by securing the Copies of Maps, Charts, and Books, to the Authors and Proprietors of such Copies, during the times therein mentioned;" and also to an act intitled, "An act supplementary to an act, intitled an act for the Encouragement of Learning, by securing the Copies of Maps, Charts, and Books, to the Authors and Proprietors of such Copies during the times therein mentioned; and extending the benefits thereof to the Arts of Designing, Engraving, and Etching Historical and other Prints.”

To my respected Patrons and Friends I owe many thanks for the encouragement, which they have afforded to my publications in general, and it is always with much pleasure I acknowledge their kindness and liberality. I would inform them that if encouragement be afforded, the First Volume of Dr. Emmons's Sermons on some of the First Principles of the Christian religion, will be reprinted in the course of the ensuing winter. Those who intend to buy this volume are desired to send in their names; and such as have not taken the "Original Sermons” will please to send for them.
