If you are for heaven, you must; there is but one place where, after death, you can escape the founds: It is there, where those dwell who have been blafphemers: It is the place where every one shall be who loveth and maketh a lie; those who deny the Word of God; whether it be openly, or by comment upon it. it. THE

THE ATONEMENT.

Although we are ignorant, unlearned men, we are fenfible that we are finners: We feel it; and we therefore thankfully read the account contained in the Old Teftament difpensation of the folemnities of the great annual atonement; and in particular of the 'scape-goat'. We also wish as much as poffible to confider ourselves feparated from the wicked, and all wickedness in the world; and it gives us comfort that God has even in the Old Testament dispensation made a separation between His people and their oppreffors; an account whereof we read in the books of Mofes, where a lamb was ordered to be flain called the paffover or pafchal lamb', which was to be the, token; that the house, on the posts of whofe doors the blood of the lamb was sprinkled, was a house fearing and believing in Him; confequently that His people dwelt therein.

As the children of Ifrael were feparated from their oppreffors, we hope also to be separated from our oppreffors; and as we know that those who plague and puzzle us will think themfelves hardly used by being confidered as our oppreffors, we beg leave to obferve, that a poor man's all is as much to him as the rich man's is to him; and fome of us, though poor, owe no rent, and have moreover barns with grain in them, hayricks, cattle, and other stock, all of which we know the value of, and are thankful for; 1 John ii, 1. 3 John iii. 14. but
