Sayfa 167 - This term is applied to the finely pulverized product resulting from the calcination to incipient fusion of an intimate mixture of properly proportioned argillaceous and calcareous materials, and to which no addition greater than 3 per cent has been made subsequent to calcination.
Sayfa 178 - Tight platforms shall be provided of sufficient size to accommodate men and materials for the progressive and rapid mixing of at least two batches of concrete at the same time. Batches shall not exceed one cubic yard each, and smaller batches are preferable, based upon a multiple of the number of sacks to the barrel.
Sayfa 179 - After the forms are removed, any small cavities or openings in the concrete shall be neatly filled with mortar if necessary. Any ridges due to cracks or joints in the lumber shall be rubbed down; the entire face shall then be washed with a thin grout of the consistency of whitewash, mixed in the proportion of one part of cement to two parts of sand. The wash should be applied with a brush.

Sayfa 19 - Evelyn Lake. According to Dr. Barlow there are quartz veins on the Matawapiki, as the last stretch of Lady Evelyn lake, before reaching the Montreal river, is called. These quartz veins are found here on both sides of the lake, and occur at the contact of the intrusive diabase and the banded slate, and in the latter. The minerals are galena, copper pyrites, iron pyrites, and zinc blende.
