JOHN C. BREED, is an Attorney, having received a B. A. from Rice University and a Juris Doctor from law school. John was married 52 years to Maxine. He has a son J. Carter Breed and a daughter Bethany Martin. At this writing, John has been blessed to have survived 36 heart surgeries, but was shocked to have his spouse Maxine encounter cancer and predecease him. John and Maxine were Charter Members of Tallowood Baptist Church, Houston. BETHANY MARTIN was born and raised in Houston. She received her BA in Journalism from the University of Houston. She lives in Austin with her husband David and two children. She is a wife, home school teacher, worship leader and songwriter. For more information on the booklet "Moving to Heaven" or to get more information on her songs of encouragement, contact her at davidbethanym@sbcglobal.net Poetic compassion! John has captured the dark journey of losing his wife in a story that needs to be told. For all who have lost hope, he reminds us that God's grace is sufficient for us. Even the beauty of God's world reminds us that we are not to give up in the face of adversity. We all remember Maxine as a person of great grace and dignity, a lady among ladies. John's journal of her experience of Cancer is a tribute to her faith and a legacy of their love. I recommend these words to all who suffer from illness and anticipate loss. His honest account of their pain will encourage all of us who go through pain to trust as they did in the Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Duane Brooks Pastor, Tallowood Baptist Church, Houston, TX.
