it was amazing

I really loved this book, I feel like this series gets more captivating and exciting by every book. yes I liked it more than the first book, I grew an attachment to all the characters, and Cassandra's writing is so poetic and beautiful! though I did have some slight issues with the book, I overally enjoyed it so much to even care about it's flaws!
[stop reading to avoid spoilers]
first of all, how stupid Simon was to go to the vampires alone??? like come on Simon you're too smart to do this! I was really shocked that he turned into a vampire and I really wish he didn't, it just made it even harder for him and Clary to end up together and I ship them really hard tbh.
the inquisitor was so annoying at first, I didn't get why she acted so aggresivly against jace , but after knowing the back story I really sympathized with her, though it still wasn't an excuse to treat him like that, but then, nobody's perfect am I right? it was so sad seeing her die to save jace, but I think of it as a way to just relief her from all the grieve and hatred she's living with.
i like that we get to be with magnus's character and get to know him more, I really like his personality and how he would do anything just for Alec, it's good to see that he actually has feelings since he seems to not care about anyone..
probably my favorite thing was discovering that Clary and Jace had hidden powers, it's really interesting and especially clary's power since it's so powerful and extremely helpful! but I don't get how did Valentine do the experiment on Clary when she wasn't even born yet? I hope they clear more stuff as we continue on with the series.
now I have a feeling that Jace and Clary are not really siblings, because before the inquisitor died she realised something and wanted to say it to Jace, something about his real father or whatever, and when Valentine told Clary that her mother left him because he turned his son (Jace) into a monster and she didn't want him to also turn Clary into a monster. then Clary was like "my mother would never say such things about Jace, he's not a monster" then valentine be like "I'm not talking about __" then Simon and jace open the door to rescue clary. so my guess is that there's something we don't know yet, and I can't wait to figure it out!

and as for Simon getting back to live after being dried from blood, it was so funny and creative haha, for a second I thought he was going to turn into a shadowhunter since his body was running on Jace's blood, and I guess that's part of why he can go out in the sun now, which was so cool, I was so happy for him!
my only problem was how maia was rescued? like after she ran away Valentine sent demons after her to get her, then he told Clary that he killed maia. and all of a sudden maia shows at the end of the book, it didn't make sense to me. I also felt sad for Clary, like Simon doesn't want to be her boyfriend anymore, and Jace decides to just treat her like his sister, and now she's all alone lol.
anyway it was a great great sequel to the first book and it was so interesting and cool, it definitely deserved the 5 stars.
